Shenzhen and Hong Kong are close neighbours, separated by a river. Due to the advantages of geographical location and convenient transportation, many mainland China and Hong Kong cross-border families have been born and frequently travel between the two places. But the COVID -19 broke their previous life model. Due to quarantine policies and high costs, most families have not seen each other for over a year. Although video and communication technology can solve communication barriers, cold technology cannot replace the heat of face-to-face emotional communication. Repeated epidemics are like a bottomless pit, gradually draining their residual hope. The situation of special cross-border family groups was lack of attention. I chose Heung Yuen Wai Port as the background, which is only 20 meters away from the coast of Shenzhen. I used children’s toy Magnetic Tiles as the primary material so that adults can return to their children, forget their troubles, and increase exciting interactions. The things that come out are unique, so they can find each other at a glance.
深圳和香港是近鄰,一江之隔。由於地理位置和交通便利的優勢,誕生了許多中港跨境家庭,頻繁往來兩地。但突如其來的新冠疫情打破了他們之前的生活模式。由於隔離政策和高昂的費用,大多數家庭已經一年多沒有見面了。雖然視頻和通信技術的應用可以解決溝通障礙,但冰冷的技術並不能代替面對面情感交流的熱度。反復的流行病就像一個無底洞,逐漸耗盡他們殘留的希望。來自中港兩地的特殊但非小眾跨境家庭群體的情況,缺乏關注和關注。我選擇了距離深圳海岸僅20米的新界向尾園口岸作為背景,並以兒童玩具磁鐵為主要材料,讓大人回到孩子身邊,忘記煩惱,增加有趣的互動。出來的東西都是獨一無二的,讓對方一眼就能找到對方。

As I always believe, the design is not random improvisation but intimately associated with reality. Whenever we design, we slightly change the appearance of the world. If we explore the limitation of the specialism little by little, we discover a new interpretation of the present and find new solutions for the future. My previous study in Communication Design at the University of Technology Sydney has laid me a solid foundation in design and art. The experience has brought me a lot of excitement and inspiration from the collision of different fields of art, and significantly broadened my horizon of art while strengthening my communication skills. My career ambition lies in becoming a designer with the courage of challenging tradition, the capacity for expression, social responsibility, and sensitivity to culture.
正如我一直相信的那樣，設計不是隨機的即興創作，而是與現實密切相關。 每當我們設計時，我們都會稍微改變世界的外觀。 如果我們一點一點地探索專業的局限性，我們就會發現對現在的全新詮釋，為未來找到新的解決方案。我之前在悉尼科技大學的視覺傳達學習為我打下了堅實的設計和藝術基礎。 這次經歷給我帶來了很多不同藝術領域的碰撞帶來的興奮和靈感，大大拓寬了我的藝術視野，增強了我的溝通能力。 我的職業抱負在於成為一名具有挑戰傳統的勇氣、表達能力、社會責任感和對文化敏感的設計師。
